Although some of China's medium- and small-sized rubber producers are faced with the risk of bankruptcy, due to high cost in the industry and policy impact, including reduction of export rebate rate, China's synthetic rubber industry on the whole maintains a good momentum of growth. According to the statistics of the National Bureau of Statistics, China's tire output in 2007 reached 556.49 million units, up 23% year on year, of which 250 million units were meridian, up 33% year on year. China's output of rubber overshoes in the year was 1.95 billion pairs, up 18% year on year.
